The Mecha Genesis

The Mecha Genesis Season Finale by Aleks Sakowski

We finally made it! It’s been 3 years since I started the YouTube version of The Mecha Genesis - Volume one and the final episode is live. This project allowed me to refine and understand the world much better, so I ended up replacing the last 5 characters in the original book with new stories that relate far better to how the world is structured and the story i’m telling. This took some time as the concepts of The Breaking Nations, the future of Language and Religion are complex subjects that required time to write and draw. The graphics for the Phonix Symbologs in particular took the most time as there are soo many layers in those stax to try and illustrate the density of them.

For me there is still room for improvement and expansion on Volume One, but for now this digital third edition is complete. I’m going to now focus my attention into reformatting all the new graphics into the graphic novel and continue working on volume 3. Thank you traveler for joining me on this journey, and may your fractal resonance go above and beyond the sacred omniverse.

The Breaking Nations by Aleks Sakowski

New episode of The_Mecha_Genesis is live. It’s been a moment since the last one, but always moving forward on the project when I have time.

"In the wake of unintended consequences from geoengineering projects to counter global warming in the 21st century, Earth plunged into a 900-year transformative era known as "The Breaking Nations." Find out more of our future history in Episode 22

Episode 20 by Aleks Sakowski

Tammo is an example of what happens when you reject technology beyond the 25th century. Episode_20 is live! These last few have taken me a while to get to as I have completely re-written them from what is in the book. Making this YouTube series has allowed me to understand the world-story much better and has given me a chance to expand on topics that are rooted deeper in the lore of humanities future. The 3rd Edition of Vol.1 feels like a level up from the first edit, but also I should spend some time on Vol.3 soon. I also take solace in the fact that J. R. R. Tolkien only started writing when he was 38!

Episode 14 by Aleks Sakowski

New Episode is up! After taking a creative break post Godslap production and also moving countries, i’m hoping to get back into a rhythm of working on The Mecha Genesis again. Usually after these huge animated projects I always find my self in a creative slump, however moving countries during covid times also added a lot of pressure and stress over the last 2 months.

I have to remind my self that it’s ok to take a break from creative work, however it’s a paradox, the longer I go without drawing or working on my own work, the more guilty I feel that i’m not working hard enough on it. My partner and I are finally settled in and I have my work station set up again.

The Mecha Genesis is a massive world, and I have to be in a consistent rhythm to connect all the dots. I can also feel the weight of the mountain of work to complete volume 3. However I just have to remember to take it one bit at a time.

I've already got a lot prepped for volume 3 and the hard work on it has really just begun. There is some cool ideas in it i’m excited to share with you all. Anyway I can’t imagine many people will read this so it’s more like a mental blog to hold my self accountable. If you are reading, thanks for taking the time to be part of this world and creative journey :)

I’m also going to continue the YouTube series of volume 1. I felt blocked by episode 14 as the drawing is old and I wanted to re-do it as my illustration skills have gotten so much better since I drew this character. I was just putting off making this episode until I said fuck it, just put it out there and move on! If I find time to update the drawing I will add it to future volumes. Doing this YouTube series I have already updated all the character stories and many of the illustrations. Doing this iterative process of just getting it out there and then updating and editing as time goes on has really helped me refine and define the world and how all these characters fit into it.

Here is a sneak peak of a somewhat finished illustration for volume 3! Seto from clan Barben (names may change 😅)
